Integrated Therapeutic Approaches

Integrated Therapeutic Approaches

At Lake House School, we recognise that for many pupils, emotional wellbeing, communication, and regulation must be strengthened before learning can truly flourish. Our therapeutic approach is not an “add-on” to education — it is fully integrated into daily school life.

We provide a holistic, child-centred model where education and therapy work together to support each pupil’s development, wellbeing, and long-term success.

A Fully Integrated Approach

Our teachers, therapists, and support staff work closely as one team to ensure that therapeutic strategies are embedded across the school day — in classrooms, social times, transitions, and enrichment activities.

This means:

  • Therapy informs teaching, and teaching reinforces therapy
  • Pupils receive consistent support and language throughout the day
  • Strategies are practiced in real, meaningful situations
  • Progress is supported emotionally, socially, and academically

Our Areas of Therapeutic Support

Depending on individual needs, pupils may receive support in areas such as:

  • Emotional regulation and self-awareness
  • Communication and interaction
  • Sensory integration and processing
  • Anxiety management and resilience
  • Social understanding and relationships
  • Attention, engagement, and learning behaviours
  • Independence and life skills

Support may be delivered through a combination of:

  • Individual therapy sessions
  • Small group interventions
  • In-class therapeutic strategies
  • Targeted programmes and structured activities
